Summary/Abstract: The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, concluded in Moscow between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, more precisely between Stalin and Hitler, because they had absolute power in these countries, the so-called pact of non-aggression, is the instrument or detonator of the apocalypse that crushed millions human lives, has produced immense suffering and destruction whose consequences are still felt today. This study wants to highlight what diplomacy represented in international relations, in the case of small nations, such as Romania, in their struggle for survival, in a tumultuous historical and international climate, imposed by the great powers of the time. This study also seeks answers to the big question of diplomacy in international relations, in terms of small states, on the one hand, and large powers, on the other. To this end, the development of the study is based on the historical example of Romania, severely shaken by the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact between the two great powers of the time: Germany and Russia.
