Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the new directive on consumer credits. The directive is briefly analysed on the basis of comparison with the older one and its implementing act. Emphasis is given to novelties, particularly to a principle of full harmonisation, changes in applicability and promotion of consumer protection by creditor’s duties to assist, to assess creditworthiness and by consumer’s right to withdraw from credit contract. Although novelties are not as huge as in first proposals, the principle of full harmonisation and changes in formulations would require detailed review of contemporary regulation. It would be easier to adopt new act, preferably common for other directives on consumer directives as well.
