Summary/Abstract: In this article, the authoress, discussing the status of (female) body in the philosophy of Enlightenment, dealing especially with views of Mary Wollstonecraft, argues that the radical consequence of chastity or modesty, as the goal of education of woman as moral subject, is exactly the obscenity, illustrating this with the most popular pornographic text of the 18th century, „Therese the Philosopher".
