Summary/Abstract: Today, Ibn Rushd appears as a thinker who with his opinion, in the modern sense of the word, establishes a bridge between the world of Islam and the West, reduces the risk of conflict between Islamic and Western civilization, sheds new light on the concept and character of the Enlightenment and the European Renaissance, revives the concept of interpretation / ta’wil (inner meaning) as a dynamic notion of modern hermeneutics that stands against the notion and possibility of the practice of not only Islamic, but also Christian and every other fundamentalism and extremism.
