Summary/Abstract: The article is focused on some important folklore bearers from the left side of the Dniester River and their lyrical vocal repertoire collected by the author, during his field research in several villages from this subzone. The most important singers, registered in the author’s collection, are Liubov Prodius (born in 1932) from Nezavertailovca, Slobozia, and Maria Zbârnea (born in 1950) from Goian, Dubăsari. There were also presented melodies from the repertoire of several ethno-folklore ensembles. The presented repertoire could be grouped, from the musical point of view, in several layers, especially the old layer andthe new contemporary ones. The poetic subjects include the most diverse themes and motifs, from those of love to those of jokes, war, table songs and many others. The article includes some musical examples.
