Summary/Abstract: Searches in the field of animation film have provoked a new formula for reflecting the world. This is about the so-calledanimation documentary, which in terms of techniques and its specific language, has the possibility to address the most pressingissues of society. Most of the films, signed by Ghenadie Popescu, an independent artist from the Republic of Moldova, are included in thisformula of animation documentary. His artistic visions converge with the desire to express his attitude towards everyday reality. Analyzing the series of films dedicated to rivers: the Ichel River (2012), the Racovăţ River - September 2013, the CamencaRiver (2014), the Răut River, July-September 2015, the Ciorna River, August 2016, we can confirm that Ghenadie Popescu hasfound his artistic style of conveying a socially a politically engaged message through the specific language of film art, combiningreal images with animated puppetry. The series of fi lms dedicated to our rivers not only imprints the beauty of local landscapes, demonstrating the existence of local values, but also draws attention to the existing ecological issues.
