PARALLELS IN MACEDONIAN AND ALBANIAN SPELLING

Summary/Abstract: In our paper we will make a comparative overview of the Macedonian orthography, onthe one hand, and on the Albanian orthography, on the other. These two important books,which represent a unified set of rules for writing words, have a similar structure, that is, theyare composed of several chapters. However, for us, the most interesting and the mostimpressive for analysis are the rules for: Capitalization and Slaughter and ceparated writing ofwords.By comparing certain examples, we will try to identify the similarities and differencesin certain orthography rules. Regarding the Macedonian language, we will make a comparisonbetween the most recent and the older edition of the Spelling, in order to indicate how certainchanges, which are considered essential, are accepted in practice.
