Summary/Abstract: The article examines the criteria for defining contacts as bilateral, unilateral and imperfect bilateral, as well as contracts for consideration and gratuitous contracts. It is argued that bilateral contracts are not always for consideration. The article is intended to clarify the essence of imperfect bilateral contracts. The author states that contracts without legal definitions, which are combining consideration and gratuitous elements, should be considered contracts for consideration. Through analysis of the current legislation a conclusion is reached that not all commercial transactions are for consideration.
