Summary/Abstract: This paper presents basic guidelines of discussion about understanding of Almighty God on the basis of el-Gazali’s work Ildžamu'l-‘avamm ‘an ‘ilm al-kalam –Detering People of Practicing Theology, which appeared at the very end of his life. There are seven aspects which people have to follow in the understanding of the knowledge of the Almighty Allah, and His attributes as well as what is transferred by mutevatir traditions of the Prophet, p.b.u.h., the companions, and of that what they learned from the reality of the prophethood and the Day of Judgement. El- Gazali claims that all this is written by in order to understand the essence of direction in which the good precursors walked. Perception is an individual effort which one undertakes to achieve something what is hardly reachable and understandable. Principles on which el-Gazali based his work are: discussion on transcendental, التقديس faith in affirmation of belief ( الإيمان و التصديق ), recognition of powerlessness ( الاعتراف بالعجز ), restraint from asking too many questions ( السكوت عن السؤال ), to abstain of spiking at his own discretion ( الإمساك عن التصرف بالألفاظ ), cancelation of the restraint ( ي الكف بعد الإمساك ), and compliance with the opinion of learned men.
