China’s Panda Diplomacy

Summary/Abstract: It is called panda diplomacy for China to send pandas to states where it wants to establishpositive relations and to carry out efforts to strengthen bilateral communication. Thispractice is carried out by gifting pandas in their first years, then complying with legalregulations and animal rights and renting them, and today by identifying donor countriesand lending them within the framework of joint care plans. In the study, the place of animalsin the historical process related to diplomacy was mentioned, in the same way that pandadiplomacy continued with its current state and the work was completed by focusing on thefuture of this diplomacy topic. Since there is no academic content in the Turkish literaturethat directly examines panda diplomacy, this study is expected to contribute to the literature.In addition to Turkish, content in English, German and Chinese was also used.
