The university in communism. About the politics of consciousness and the construction of the new man in the communist regime in Romania

Summary/Abstract: Set in the context of the as called „July’s Thesis” of the dictator Ceaușescu, the book „Two Decades of Communism in the Universitary City of Iași” is the direct proof of the way in which the measures of restalinisation through propaganda and ideologisation, adopted by the Romanian Communist Party, were applied locally and in the Univesity of Iași. The decisions for the stricter ideological control of the radio and TV broadcasts, of the mass-media, books and the increase of the educational role of the Marxist-Leninist ideology represented a similar turn with Mao’s Cultural revolution or with the ideological control exercised by Kim Ir Sen in North Koreea, through wich the Unique Party and the Romanian totalitarian state decided what exactly had the right to hope, to believe and to think all the citizens of the nation in a total ideological regimentation.
