Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present time and the temporality of man as important factors within contemporary theological and anthropological discourse. This is largely due to the dynamic development of ecclesiology during the Second Vatican Council, and especially to the development of the vision of the Church as a community of salvation, which does not materialize somewhere on the fringes of the history of the world and humanity, or beyond. The study reveals the complex process of historicizing theology, recalls the great theologians who have played a significant part in it, and draws attention to the historical way of arguing in contemporary theological debates.
