Summary/Abstract: Decentralization, local government, assists to recognize the necessaries and preferences of civilians through their direct involvement in plan management and implementation. It leads to effective control and supervision, and in the post-cold war period, has come to be discovered again for accumulating worthy rate of GDP in both developed and developing countries. The system of India chose for a quasi-federal political structure to bring the unity among culturally diverse ethnic groups. Though they have systematic democracy, they failed to achieving higher rate of growth of GDP due to the unbridled centralization of economic policy making. Therefore, India has created another level of decentralized extents to progress the condition of development. In India, Panchayati Raj system is the core body of decentralization through which democracy becomes accurately responsive and representative. There are two levels, Union and States, were being operated by the Indian states as a federation exclusively. The decentralization process in India and facilitates powers from the states to the local bodies are reinforced by the 73rd amendment. In order to approach the study of Indian democratization structure, the system of parliament and its type of elections work out along with power sharing from central government to local government into the local institutions by its federal system.
