Summary/Abstract: One of the important medicinal and aromatic plants of our country, laurel is a plant that has become the symbol of Hatay province. The laurel fixed oil obtained from laurel fruits is generally used in soap production and the essential oil obtained from its leaves is used in many fields, especially in the cosmetic industry. The production of fixed oil, which is the raw material of traditional laurel soap and obtained from laurel seeds, is a product unique to Hatay. For this reason, it is one of the most important plants to be studied for the region and our country, and the interest and demand for laurel has increased in parallel with the development of the sector, and the cultivation of laurel plants has increased in degraded and burned forest areas and private property areas. These developments have also revealed the needs for quality. In addition to the laurel oil obtained from natural populations with primitive methods, incorrect practices in harvesting methods and harvesting at the wrong times reveal inconvenient situations both in terms of healthy development of the tree and in terms of oil yield and quality.
