Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the participation of anonymous witnesses in criminal proceedings. More precisely it examines the following issues: the limitation of defendant’s rights in cases of anonymous witnesses; the requirements of the European Convention for the protection of Human Rights concerning anonymous witnesses; legal provisions and court practice on anonymous witnesses in some foreign countries.
