Summary/Abstract: This essay aims to present a synthesis of the important contributions of the great humanist thinker, Renaissance and European encyclopedist spirit, Prince of Moldavia (1693 and 1710-1711) and member of the Berlin Academy (1716), Dimitrie Cantemir (1673-1723), to Romanian and universal economic theory and practice.We started both from the value of his contributions in the economic field and from the reality that they are very little presented in the Romanian and foreign specialized literature, much less than his contributions in other fields of science and culture (history, philosophy, anthropology , linguistics, geopolitics, literature, diplomacy, music, etc.).
