The growing role of patent information in management

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to show the benefits of the systematic use of patent information in management. The author describes the most important patent information databases - both publicly available and commercial ones. Several guidelines have been presented to facilitate the use of patent information databases by applying different types of patent classification. The article indicates the vital role of the information in patent databases and proves that intellectual property management should be included in every CEO's agenda
