The Integration of Moldavian Students into Higher Education in Romania

Summary/Abstract: Since 1990, Romania has been offering students born in Moldova the chance to study in the public education system. In this article we will analyze these students’ perceptions of the Romanian university system, the reasons behind their choice to study in Romania, expectations regarding finding a workplace after getting a Bachelor’s degree and the advantages and disadvantages of the Romanian higher education system compared to the Moldavian one. Additionally, we will analyze the Moldavian students’ expectations regarding their chances of integrating into not only the Romanian university system, but also into Romanian society.
