Summary/Abstract: The topic of this article is the personal confession of dependence and social environment that treats drug users. Family support in this case is not sufficient, and religion and interviews with experts are seen as key aspects of this process. The narrative is important because we learn the story firsthand and it tells us about substance abuse, crisis, violence and stigma. Support and interviews of professionals to help an addict to overcome and to forget the crisis, build confidence and focus on success in school, work and parenting. Addicts build a new identity and gain confidence. In addition, many of them want to be baptized and go to church. Some of the addicts are treated in hospital, the other under house arrest or in a cottage, and a third visit monasteries.
