Summary/Abstract: With technological advancement, AI tends to turn more human while humans tend to turn more artificial or virtual. The gradual convergence between these two apparently distinct entities leads us to revisit the problems of identity. Human consciousness evolves in decreasing participation towards final participation. As humans are becoming more abstract and rationalist, AI is becoming more concrete and human. This essay attempts to review human identity vis-à-vis AI evolution from the perspective of materialism and that of narrative.
