Summary/Abstract: The article is an interpretation of a poem Ostatnie wspomnienie. Do Laury [The Last Memory. To Laura] by Juliusz Słowacki as a literary work referring to creative crisis. What makes this discussion well-grounded is the observation that throughout his life, Słowacki revealed this strong urge to periodise his own biography. In the light of these inclinations the literary piece in question can be assumed as one of the examples of Słowacki’s turning points he engineered himself. It is far subtler, as opposed to previous straightforward declarations of Słowackic’s breakthrough moments, a record of which can be noticed in his diaries and letters. Yet, the undertones of the poem suggest one more turning point in Słowacki’s course of life − a turning point that would be different from the well-established mainstream biographical profiles and at the same time a turning point that would make scholars search for the origins of Słowacki’s mystical transformation in a period much earlier than 1842−1843.
