Summary/Abstract: Three types of issues were important In the development of the Slovenian trade union movement: economic, political and conceptual. Economic and political issues were important because they had an impact on the dynamics of society; they determinated conditions for the diversity of union functions. Different social concepts had a strong influence on the unions themselves.
