Summary/Abstract: The articie has two aims. The first aim is to place research on neocorporatism In Slovenia in the context of recent conceptual discussions in political science concerning the role of interest groups in the policy-making process. Several theoretical approaches and the policy network concept are presented as possible tools of research in this field. The second aim of the article is to present empirical data on the role of trade unions in newly emerging policy networks in Slovenia. Accessibility of the government, its readiness to accept the politics of consultation and relationships between political parties and trade unions are described as co-determinants of the practical role of trade unions in policy-making and implementation in Slovenia.
