Keywords: Germanisms; migration of borrowings; the varying suffixoids -ман/ -мен (-man/-men)
Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to review borrowings in Bulgarian in which reflexes of the German word appear as second element or (in two instances) as a word-formation base. The contrastive analysis was driven by the varying appearance of the said element as either -ман (-man) or -мен (-men). The conclusions drawn on their distribution should aid the clarification of the source language for each borrowing and the path of its appearance in Bulgarian.
