Summary/Abstract: Mihajlo Idvorski Pupin (1854–1935) represents a current phenomenon in the contemporary Serbian context starting from the second decade of the twenty-first century, although lived and worked in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in the United States American States. This Serbian-American scientist and diplomat appears as the main one the character of the television commercial from 2018, is the central figure of the exhibition "Pupin - From physical to spiritual reality" (2015-2017) in the History Museum of Serbia, it is written about books, make movies and shows. Starting from the assumption that Pupin's popularity the character is not the result of spontaneous processes, that is, he is popularized and mythized by by certain interest groups, I tried to shed light on the processes through which this is done happened, as well as to determine why they took place a century after the scientist's life. This one The review paper will first consider the question of whether Pupin can be considered a cultural hero and whether his character is used through the processes of myth.
