Summary/Abstract: In our globalized world in accordance with the requirements of the XXI century, quality assurance at the national and international levels is the most important and even leading factor in education, especially in higher education. The concept of quality is based on the quality management approaches developed by famous scientists such as E. Deming, M. Juran and K. Ishikawa during and after World War II, and the first application of these approaches, especially in the manufacturing sector. People have always wanted better service and needed different products and services to meet their needs. The availability of these products and services in demand today has created a need to develop new methods and concepts in all areas, including education. Therefore, the quality assurance factor is generally understood as meeting the needs of the consumer and providing better service than expected. In environments where the concept of quality is not developed and a culture of quality is not formed, it is impossible to ensure quality. Quality assurance is a set of planned, systematic activities and their evaluation to ensure that the education service meets the requirements specified in the quality standards and to determine whether it meets those requirements. In this study, we discussed the quality assurance, accreditation in higher education, the advantages and benefits they bring to universities, and recommendations on the work to be done to establish a quality assurance system.
