THE EFFECT OF THE PANDEMIC ON THE ACTIVITY OF CUSTOMS AUTHORITIES AND INTERPRETATION WITH STATISTICAL DATA

Summary/Abstract: The Covid-19 epidemic, which emerged in Wuhan, China and spread all over the world, was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020 and has become a global problem. This epidemic, which surrounded the whole world, affected both all countries in the world and Azerbaijan in all areas of life (health, social, economic, psychological, etc.). One of these sectors is the customs institutions of the State Customs Committee, which is a state institution. Customs has an undeniable place in the economic life of our country. As we know, the national economy of our republic depends on the development of foreign economic relations. Customs policy focuses on expanding customs cooperation and ensuring economic interests of the Azerbaijan Republic and economic security within its jurisdiction. In addition, the customs policy of the Azerbaijan Republic is based on customs and customs clearance of goods and transportation, collection of customs duties, strengthening of customs control, strengthening of control over smuggling and proper resolution of such problems. In this article, first of all, COVID-19 and the customs system of our country were examined and the effect of the pandemic on the activities of customs institutions as in other areas, and the dependence of the reasons for the differences in foreign trade before and during the pandemic with the pandemic were investigated.
