Summary/Abstract: Sampling is very commonly used in social science research, both quantitative and qualitative. Designing the study sample or indicate procedures and criteria followed in the selection of the study population fragment, on which will develop the investigation is an important step in any research project. Assessing the rigor of a research, whether it involves a quantitative, qualitative or combined approach, also requires a clear, detailed description of the sampling strategies. In the present paper, we first want to illustrate the main difference between qualitative sampling and quantitative sampling, then we will stop on purposeful sampling, where we will address the issue if delimitation of what we sampling, the size of the sample and the main strategies sampling found within this approach.
