Summary/Abstract: During the last two decades, a number of studies and projects were carried out in Romania, regarding the reduction of poverty, without any viable results however. This fact led to a decrease in the population’s trust in the country’s institutions, in Romanian politicians, a matter that also reflects, in our opinion, the low attendence on electoral vote of romanians. In this study, we want to show how much poverty influences the political involvement of citizens in Galați, especially their vote attendence and their presence at the 2016 and 2017 riots.
