Parental responsibility and parental authority in the context of a child’s welfare

Summary/Abstract: The discussion in the paper regards the issue of considered modifications to family relationships, moving away from the concept of parental authority and towards the concept of “parental responsibility”. This subject appears to be of great importance in the context of the welfare of a child, since it becomes a subject of family relationships. The proposed idea assumes the adoption of a solution considered to be modern and which effectively safeguards the rights of both parents and children. However, it is also being criticized that the proposed solutions, if adopted, could lead to a change in the functioning of Polish families in opposition to the traditional understanding of its functions and goals.
