Summary/Abstract: What is the essence of an individual? Is it the body? Is it the soul? An individual is a mysterious creature. It is not only the body, nor the soul. It is the communion between the two, nay, infinitely more than that. It is the mark and seal of God on the human being. An individual can only be defined a eluding definition. The man made in the image of God is immortal. He is unique, hence, one might argue, he is unclonable. Beyond such statements, at heart, man discovers himself to be a human being animated by light and grace that are not produced within - but emanate from outside - his being, as tension that transcends all amendable man-made laws and mechanisms.
