Summary/Abstract: This study deals with symbols as structural parts of the Icon, where the faith in the transfigured body is of crucial importance. In this case, body is revealed as a sign of the higher reality. This article focuses on the phenomenon of the light in Byzantine Art and on the rules of Art. It is emphasized that all the objects are clear and whole, because of the closeness of God. That kind of faith makes clearer why shadows, dark and sin are absent from the Icon. In that context, the Icon is interpreted as the liturgical expression of the faith of Christians in the Eight Day. Because of that, there is no illusion of the third dimension in the Icon. Third dimension is the paradigm of the world which recognizes Good and Evil. Images and objects are treated axiologically in the Icon, according to the valuation which was granted by the Uncreated God. Line of the perspective is reversed to the spectator and requests the dialogue and, finally, the Icon calls him in its world of peace.
