Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on integrating of the reading of literary texts in the teaching of Bulgarian language Chinese college students. Consistent with the present trend in foreign language education that emphasizes student’s translingual and transcultural competence we analyse the potential of the literary texts that can develop students’ language proficiency and help culture acculturation and explore how to realize the integrating by presenting a sample lesson plan for teaching the Bulgarian-language text My daughter is dancing (Ekaterin Yosifova, 1969) in the language classroom.
