Summary/Abstract: Integration is the assimilation of the student by the normal education system, a process through which the student with disabilities adapts to the educational and social environment. There is a close connection between the inclusive teaching and social inclusion. The concept of inclusion has given rise to a lot of tensions. Through the Declaration from Salamanca an appeal was made for the international community to guarantee the inclusive schools by introducing a series of practical and strategic changes in the educational and social environment. Inclusion means highlighting the diversity of students, of their families and communities and it addresses all members of society. Another challenge is the necessity of changing the mentalities and the attitude towards persons with disabilities as well as the attempt to offer them the a normal life chance by changing social representations, by renouncing labels, by offering equal opportunities for their socio-professional integration.
