Summary/Abstract: The application of a model for studying the achieved results and managing the company changes in line with the requirements coming from the market, and the demands of the customers that are now more sophisticated. The aim of this paper is to show which models are used in the world today for the evaluation and management of a company’s performance, as well as to show the increasing application of the Balanced Scorecard model in companies worldwide. The research conducted on the territory of the Republic of Slovakia shows the connection between the introduction of innovations in the business and the importance of applying models for performance evaluation, as well as the connection between the introduction of these models and the improvement of the business. The introduction of the Balanced Scorecard model into business operations is an important factor for gaining success in today’s demanding and competitive market.
