Identity and Achievement in Early Adolescence

Summary/Abstract: This article is an overview of theories that represent the relationship between identity, achievement and self-assessment in еarly adolescence (the period between 11/12 – 15/16 years). Тheories and studies in different theoretical areas have showed variety and wealth of the factors, which facilitate formation of identity, and spheres of self-concept. It is highlighted the issue of perception and assessment of achievement as a major resource in acquisition of mature ego-identity.
