Summary/Abstract: In the present study, the purpose was to determine Turkey’s Parliamentary Government System experience by providing brief information on the Parliamentary Government System. For this purpose, firstly a general conceptual framework was drawn about the parliamentary system of government. In this context, the meaning of the Parliamentary Government System, its historical background, its common characteristics, advantages and weaknesses were discussed. Then, the history of the Parliamentary Government System in Turkey was explained. This issue was examined with the constitutions in force in Turkey. In this respect, the Government Systems used from the 1876 Constitution, the first written Turkish Constitution, until the period of the 1982 Constitution, which is already in force, were examined. These government systems were examined in terms of historical backgrounds, constitutional institutions, functioning and problems.
