Summary/Abstract: In the groundwork of patristic exegesis the term Icon is directed to the relationship of God and man. In that context, the Icon acquires character of relationship and can be assumed only in the framework of a communion. Ontology of Icon is an interdependent relationship. It is theological view that could be offered as a model of exegesis, and even a model for facing with particular views of scholars that speak about Icon (as a sign and as a symbol).
