Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to determine the frequency of verb valency driven errors in the writings of Arab students who learn Turkish as a foreign language. The study is designed to be a case study, which employs a qualitative research approach. The sample of the study consists of 750 Arab students at the level of A1-C1 studying at the Turkish Education Application and Research Center in two universities in the Black Sea Region and the Marmara Region in 2019-2020 academic year. The written final exams were screened and compiled as the data of the study. In the study, revealed 2408 verb valency driven errors regarding 358 different verbs across the exam papers of 750 students. The verbs with the most common verb valency driven errors were as follows; git- (f = 296; to go), sev- (f = 158; to love), gel- (f = 78; to come), başla- (f = 56; to start) and oku- (f = 47; to read). The research findings revealed that Arab students were not able to use the formal forms of Turkish verbs valency correctly and effectively in their written products and that they made various mistakes even in the basic verbal verbs valency. It is estimated that research findings will contribute to curriculum designers, course material developers, educators and researchers.
