Summary/Abstract: In the presentation of the subject – preceded by an introduction, where is presented the theological problem of the Trinity in the creation in the contemporary theology with references to St. Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologiae – the author examines St. Thomas’ interpretations of the biblical texts regarding the theme of this research, confronted with the contemporary exegesis, and presents in five points the historical development of the Thomas’ explanation of the preposition per: 1 – The Trinitarian causality in the Summa Theologiae; 2 – The Glossa on John 1:3 (the Catena aurea); 3 – The commentaries to the texts of the Corpus Paulinum; 4 – The commentary to John 1:3 (the commentary Super Ioannem); 5 – The exposition of Rom 11:36. Thomas’ interpretations of the scriptural texts are theological, doctrinal and biblical, based not only on the speculative philosophy with the concept of cause, but also whit references to the theory of the appropriation and to the history of salvation. All this permits the author to conclude that the causality of the Trinity, presented by St. Thomas in his biblical commentaries, is very clear and rich, and remains valid and topical, and permits remaining in the faith, in doctrine and in the spirituality of the Catholic Church.
