Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to explain how the term ‘integral ecology’ is used in the Instrumentum laboris of the Amazon Synod. The introduction briefly presents the teachings of Pope Francis on subjects related to the protection of creation. The first point discusses how the Holy Father understands the concept of “integral ecology.” The second point refers to the Instrumentum laboris proposals for the concept of “integral ecology” applied to the situation of indigenous peoples living in the Amazon region. The third presents proposals for a proper understanding of the integral ecology and pastoral care of the indigenous peoples of Amazon.
