Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an attempt to reconsider the problem of myth in the works of Elena Guro. In the known works of literary criticism devoted to the creative heritage of the writer, e.g. in the papers of V. N. Toporov, the myth of the Guro’s son was considered as a futuristic idea of overcoming time (incarnation, death and resurrection). Our study undertakes the first attempt to interpret the ‘supertale’ The Poor Knight in relation to the problems of myth (according to the concept of M. Eliade), and to the automythography of a ‘suffering mother’.
