Summary/Abstract: One of the main debates in contemporary philosophy of politics is the concept of “radical democracy”. There are serious similarities as well as differences between the representatives of this approach naturally. But the similarities between two thinkers are quite remarkable: Jacques Rancière and Sheldon S. Wolin. Both philosophers have thought the real political relations should have interrupted the existing political order, and; both argued that democracy is not just a legal-political form. In addition, both considered the subject of politics around the concept of “demos”. The similarities between these two thinkers, who follow a similar intellectual trajectory but have never given reference to each other’s work, are quite striking. The purpose of this study is to summarize the views of the two philosophers, to draw attention to parallels and to reveal how they think based on similar concepts.
