Summary/Abstract: The significance of the language used in television series is most relevant when it comes to studying colloquial language. The linguistic creativity represented in the creation of idioms, allusions, culturemes, and language games takes on a special significance in series such as La que se avecina, the object of study in this work. To carry out the study of such cultural allusions and language games, a corpora of 50 expressions was defined. These expressions were selected following a double criterion: first of all, that the expressions showed a high degree of creativity and innovation and, second, that they contained either a language game or a cultural allusion. After analysing and classifying the corpus, we verify the multiplicity and vitality that cultural allusions and language games have in the language used in the series, since many of them are distorted from their original structure in order to create a greater comical effect. Likewise, within the linguistic games, we find that those most used are malapropisms and, to a lesser extent, spoonerisms. This work is concluded by stating that the language of the series La que se avecina show a great profusion of language games and allusions that not only create a comical situation that is constantly maintained throughout the episodes, but, ultimately, shape the personality and the ideology of each character in the series. Furthermore, the characters in the series are frequently the creators of their own ad hoc cultural allusions for a specific situation.
