Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes faunal remains from tumuli burials of post-Meroitic date (4th–6th century AD) from cemeteries at Hammur, El-Zuma, Tanqasi and New Amri. The offerings include “consumption” waste (camel, cattle, sheep and goat) and remains of a symbolic, “sacral” character (dogs and fox).
