Summary/Abstract: he article presents the efforts of the Polish underground and diplomatic activities of the Polish government in London aimed at forcing the governments of the US and Great Britain with the support of other governments of the anti-Hitler coalition to issue a warning to the Germans against the effects of the murder of KL Auschwitz prisoners in the face of the approaching eastern front. As a result of the warning issued on 10 October 1944, Germany abandoned the murder of 7,000 prisoners who were unable to walk (mainly Jews, but also Poles and prisoners of other nationalities).
