Summary/Abstract: In 2008, the Institute of Prehistory of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan started a three-year-long research project at Tell Arbid, based upon a cooperation agreement with the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw. e aim was to excavate extensively the remains of so-called post-Akkadian settlement on Tell Arbid, identified during PCMA UW excavations in Sector SR in 2001. The main task of the first season was to explore layers covering post-Akkadian structures in the southern part of Sector SR (renamed P) and to clarify the outlines of underlying post-Akkadian structures.
