Summary/Abstract: The inclusion of Macedonian women in the national liberation movement of the Macedonian people from the Aegean part of Macedonia during the Second World War and the Civil War in Greece had two objectives – achieving gender equality in all spheres of sociopolitical and cultural life and the recognition of the national rights of Macedonians in Greece. Therefore, their involvement in political life occurred through the prism of the leftwing movement, at first through the Greek organizations of the resistance, then in the Macedonian institutions active in the struggle during the Second World War, and then in the period of the Civil War through national Macedonian organizations such as the National Liberation Front, the National Liberation Youth Union and the Antifascist Organization of Women. The Antifascist Organization of Women managed to include Macedonian women in all aspects of the resistance movement and, although only for a short time, succeeded in realizing both of its main objectives.
