Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the study of a two coins discovered in 2011 following preventive research from Piatra Neamț-„Curtea Domnească”. The investigations were performed with non-invasive techniques of optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX). The obtained results showed the conservation state for each piece, respectively the corrosion crusts with complex structures, which contain of the chemical elements in the composition of the coins (Ag, Cu) and of the chemical compounds resulting in the buried period (S, Cl). Also, it revealed elements taken from the soil (Si, Al, P, Ca, Mg, Fe) found in the microstructure of various shapes. Of these the most important are the remains of monolithic yarns in the outer layers of the corrosion crusts in which appear the elements of the chemical composition of the coins Ag, Cu.
