ПРЕТСТАВИТЕ ЗА ЕДНО МИНАТО: SEYAHATNÂME ВО МАКЕДОНСКАТА ИСТОРИОГРАФИЈА
IMAGES OF A PAST: SEYAHATNÂME IN MACEDONIAN HISTORIOGRAPHY

Summary/Abstract: This text depicts images of the Macedonian past. The images of the Macedonian past have been being built based on the data found in the travelogue written by the writer of travel books Evliya Celebi (SEYAHATNÂME). Therefore, an analysis of the academic historical texts, historical texts intended for a wider audience and an instance of the contemporary political context has been made. The questions I am trying to give answers to refer to the character of the narratives in the analyzed texts. One can notice that in the interpretation of Celebi’s data, there is a direct or indirect building of a narrative that has a mythological character (Myth of a Glorious Past). There is also an absence of a full analysis of Celebi’s data, whilst argumentation in texts is built up throughout their rewriting.
